Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Phase IV (A84_A11L.UAS.68)

The Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response Phase IV project will improve our nation’s ability to employ Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) technology to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. UAS technology is game-changing for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. UAS excel in situations where sending a human would be dangerous, dirty, or complex. Their use is particularly beneficial in reducing the risk first responders face. UAS technology is primed for today’s data-driven emergency response world, providing information that can be readily integrated into geospatial workflows that give decision-makers timely, detailed, and accurate insights. UAS often outperform traditional remote sensing technologies such as crewed aircraft and satellite imagery.
