Devastating Loss of ASSURE Leader
It is with great sadness that we announce that ASSURE has lost one of our own. Last weekend, Jarlath O’Neil Dunne, Director of the Spatial Analysis Laboratory at the University of Vermont suffered what appears to be a massive cardiac event while doing what he loved, Nordic cross country skiing with friends, in a place that he loved, the mountains of Vermont.
His jovial personality, work ethic, love for life, everyone, and everything in it will be sorely missed and will leave a large void for all who knew him.
His obituary can be found here.
The announcement of his death from his friends who were with him can be found here, and provides some details and a tribute to this great man.
Services will be held by the family and the University of Vermont community on Saturday, January 20 at 10:30 am at the Ira Allen Chapel, University of Vermont followed by a reception at the Livak Ballroom in the Dudley H. Davis Center on campus. Details for donations in lieu of flowers will be provided later at the memorial service.
Please keep his family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers. He leaves his wife, three children, his mother, and three siblings.
He is missed.
